Extremely rare & beautiful piece of Virginia Tech memorabilia.
Enamel embossed VPI (Virginia Polytechnic Institute) Crest with Virginia Tech has been added to the front of the case. Item was purchased at an estate sale of a VPI graduate in Blacksburg, VA over 20 years ago. I do not know any history or information about the item other than that. I am not sure if it was a gift or award given to the person from the university or if the person added the VPI crest on their own. Item does show wear but is in overall good condition for its age. Lid still opens very well, hinge works fine. Fluid reservoir appears to be fine. Could probably use a new wick and flint. I have not tried to clean it or see if it works. It has been a display piece only.
