This is a rare glossy press photograph of RAY BOLGER used to promote thePost-Broadway engagement of the NANCY HAMILTON and MORGAN LEWIS musical revue "THREE TO MAKE READY" at the Colonial Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts beginning June 2nd, 1947. (The show opened March 7th, 1946 at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City and ran for 327 performances before going on the road.) ..... This was the final revue in a trilogy that included "One For The Money" and "Two For The Show". The musical starred RAY BOLGER (best known as "The Scarecrow" in the classic film "The Wizard of Oz") and featured BRENDA FORBES, ROSE INGHRAM, BIBI OSTERWALD, KAYE BALLARD, JOAN MANN, CANDACE MONTGOMERY, MARY McDONNELL, TULIKI LINDE, MARY ALICE BINGHAM, MARY JUNE PEITER, JEAN JONES, MARY ANN TEALL, WILLIAM SKIPPER, JACK McCAULEY, JOE JONSON, CARLETON CARPENTER, MARTIN KRAFT, JACK PURCELL, IRWIN CHARLES, ROBERT CUNNINGHAM, JOHN E. FRIEND and GORDON MacRAE ..... DETAILS: This beautiful glossy Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer photo measures 7 5/8" X 9 3/4" inches and includes a caption strip on the backside (second scanned image) ..... CONDITION: With the exception of crop marks in pencil, minor creasing and moderate edge wear, this rare photo is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
