This is a rare September 8th, 1963 playbill (with an original ticket stub) from the National Tour engagement of the ANTHONY NEWLEY and LESLIE BRICUSSE musical hit "STOP THE WORLD - I WANT TO GET OFF" at the Shubert Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. (The production opened October 3rd, 1962 at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre and ran for 556 performances while simultaneously playing on the road.) ..... The musical starred JOEL GREY (who would replace ANTHONY NEWLEY late in the Broadway run following this tour) and JULIE NEWMAR and featured JANET ALLMAN, JENNIFER ALLMAN, KAREN HOPPER, KAREN JOHNSON, SHERRY LAMBERT, SHERRY JO MILLER, ILENE TEMA, AUDREY SAXON, BEVERLEE WEIR, VIRGINIA MASON, MARK MONTH and MICHAEL MONTH ..... CONDITION: With the exception of moderate creasing, a vertical fold and minor edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
