This is a rare advertising postcard promoting the
Las Vegas edition of the "ZIEGFELD FOLLIES" which opened in November 1958 at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
(The production opened March 1st, 1957
at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City
and ran for 123 performances  before opening in Las Vegas.)
..... The "ZIEGFELD FOLLIES" were the most lavish musical productions on Broadway between 1907 and 1931. Blending beauty, music and talent with over 100 graceful and elegant "Ziegfeld Girls" in priceless gowns, jewels and flowers, audiences knew they would be treated to the most memorable evening possible. The key to the ongoing success of the "Follies", even in the worst of times was producer FLORENZ ZIEGFELD, JR. As a tribute to her late husband (and to capitalize on the legendary Ziegfeld name), BILLIE BURKE ZIEGFELD lent her support to new editions of the "Ziegfeld Follies" in 1934, 1936, 1943, 1956, 1957 and 1958. This edition starred JANE MORGAN and DICKIE HENDERSON and featured HELEN WOOD, SUE ANN LANGDON, VING MERLIN and LINDA, BILL SHIRLEY, the ANDREA DANCERS and RAY SINATRA and his Orchestra ..... .... DETAILS: The postcard measures 5" X 8" inches and also promotes the upcoming Holiday Engagement of RED SKELTON. The postcard was never postally used ..... CONDITION: With the exception of slight discoloration to the correspondence side, this rare postcard is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
