Description

THE  LAST  ALABAMA  ALBUM  WITH  A  CONFEDERATE  FLAG
Roll On
was Alabama's 8th studio album,  recorded in 1983 and released in 1984.  It had 4   #1  singles and a tremendous following on both country Billboard charts and mainstream Billboard charts.  Alabama had already come into their own and they were at their prime.  Who hadn't jammed to
MOUNTAIN MUSIC
?  The four #1 hits were:
Roll On
;
When We Make Love
;
If You're Gonna Play in Texas
(Gotta Have a Fiddle......);  and, (There's A)
Fire in the Night.
When my father,  who was the premier Gold/Platinum awards maker for Music Row for 50 years before his death at 91 years of age,  made this award in 1998,
Roll On
had sold more than 4-million copies in the United States and several million more in international markets.
When RCA asked Mr. Kittinger to design and produce this award which they sent to radio stations,  DJ's and music executives in gratitude for their promotional assistance over the years and airplay,  the giant record label was celebrating 20 years with Alabama,  first signing them in 1977  as a little known group known as WILDCOUNTRY when they had charted two singles.
The framed photo of the group at the time of this album is photo-copied and the autographs are not original.
